Schedule:

Stroke Play

Monday August 12th & Tuesday August 13th – Stroke Play (18-holes/day)

  • The low 32 players will qualify for match play beginning on August 14th. 
  • Any ties for the final Match Play qualifying place(s) will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff, if needed on August 13th.
  • The low net scorer – after 36-holes of stroke play will be considered the winner of the Osgood Memorial Cup (ties will not be broken).
  • The playing handicaps for the Osgood Memorial Cup will be calculated based on the August 8th Handicap Revision. Handicap Indexes used to determine a competitors Playing Handicap will not exceed 10.0.

 

Match Play

Wednesday August 14th – Round of 32 (a.m.) and Round of 16 (p.m.)

Thursday August 15th – Quarterfinals (a.m.) and Semifinals (p.m.)

Friday August 16th – Finals (18-holes)

 

Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship sites. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.

Golf Carts, Caddies and Pull Carts: Players may use caddies and/or pull/push carts during the Championship Proper. The use of automotive transportation is NOT permitted. 

 

Starting Times (Stroke Play & Match Play): Can be found on the Massachusetts Women's Amateur home page. Please make sure to be at the 1st tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time to ensure that all proper instructions are received from the starter.

The clock at the 1st tee is the official time.

 

Practice Facilities: The practice putting greens/chipping area at Taconic Golf Club will be open one hour before the first scheduled starting time.

  • Arrangements have been made for players to use the driving range at Waubeeka Golf Links Monday through Friday
    • Address: 137 New Ashford Road, Williamstown, MA 01267
      • Players must check in the golf shop to receive a bucket of range balls. 
      • Range will be opening at 7am and closing after the last tee time each day

 

Practice Round: Please read carefully below the instructions for practice rounds. 

 

Dates & Times:

  • Taconic Golf Club: Can only book tee times 7 days in advance
    • Thursday August 1st ~ 1:30pm – 2:30pm
    • Sunday August 11th ~ 12:30pm – 3:00pm

Notes

  • In order to schedule a practice round YOU MUST CALL the Taconic Golf Shop (413-458-3997). No walk-up times will be available.
    • Please introduce yourself as a competitor in the field.
  • Taconic Golf Club is providing complementary practice rounds.
  • Practice rounds are for players only.
    • Outside caddies are permitted for practice rounds.
      • Caddies are allowed to caddie only, not play.
  • Competitors will be limited to one practice round and will be paired up with other Women’s Amateur Championship competitors.
  • Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.

 Food & Beverage Services:

  • Lunch will be provided by Mass Golf for all competitors from approx. 11:00am to 4:00pm, on Monday, August 12th.
  • Additional food and beverage services (including bar service) will be available at the players expense (cash and/or credit) throughout the week. Spectators and caddies may also purchase lunch.
  • Lunch for competitors & caddies will be provided by Mass Golf throughout match play on Wednesday - Friday.
  • Breakfast services for competitors will not be available.

 

On-Course Restroom Facilities: Available at the clubhouse, 6th hole, 10th tee, & 15th tee.

 

Prizes: Stroke Play Medalist | Low Net Qualifier - Osgood Memorial Cup | Amateur Champion - Championship Bowl | Amateur Finalist - Curtis Memorial Trophy | Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

 

2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship Exemption:

  • The winner of the 2024 Massachusetts Women's Amateur Championship will be exempt into the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship (if eligible).
